Hey, I'm Amanda.
I started Wander & Root because I love plants. They’re just the best. There’s something for everyone.
For me, I love the crazy weirdo plants and learning about all the crazy weirdo things they do. I love the way plants add a special something to my home. I love teaching my boys about the new things I’ve learned. I love talking plants with everyone at our pop ups- commiserating and encouraging. And I love the feeling of accomplishment when I see a brand new leaf unfurling.
There’s no such thing as a black thumb! You just need the knowledge to give the right plant the right conditions. And you don’t have to spend your whole life researching in order to be successful and reap the benefits of having plants around. We’ll help arm you with the knowledge you need to help your new plants thrive in your home.
Jon’s is the other face you’ll see at our Pop Ups. Without him, I couldn’t do any of this. Well I could, but not nearly as well- and most likely the trailer would have rolled away at my first pop up when I forgot to use the stabilizers.
He is a top notch graphic designer, woodworker, figure-outer-er, supporter, and encourager. But he’ll try at all costs to avoid having to answer any of your planty questions.
We love hanging out at markets and breweries so that’s where you’ll mostly find us. We love Pittsburgh and all the little towns that make it up. We love exploring new neighborhoods and visiting old favorites. We’re bringing plants to the people and having a blast doing it.
